Of course, you could spend your entire free time at the beach and in the sea with your children, but it would be a waste not to add some activities and variety to your stay. The family activities listed on this page are great to enjoy with your kids; they will love sharing the fun with you!
Here are some favourite suggestions for an unforgettable time with the family.
Proudly standing near Phuket Town when coming from Patong Beach, Andamanda Phuket is an immense water park covering a staggering 100,000 sq.m! This massive park features 25 attractions, including many impressive waterslides, a 10,000 sq.m. swimming area with artificial waves and the longest lazy river in southeast Asia (550 metres!). Andamanda ranks high on our list of the most popular things to do in Phuket (especially with kids) and can get very busy during the high season and even more around the Songkran Festival in April as the temperature can rise to 38˙C!
The Upside Down House Museum and Attractions is one of the most unique and popular tourist attractions in Phuket. It's a great place to get creative and snap some mind-boggling images and videos. With plenty of crazy things to do, this wacky museum is sure to provide hours of amusement for visitors of all ages.
Froggy’s Fun Park is the largest amusement park in Phuket, located on the 3rd floor of Jungceylon Shopping Mall in Patong Beach. Carnival Magic is a brand new 40-acre nighttime Thai carnival theme park, known as the Magical Kingdom of Lights. It features numerous record-breaking attractions that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Adventure Village, the largest amusement park in the north of Phuket is located in the Blue Tree complex in BangTao and offers a variety of activities and attractions suitable for all ages, including trampolines, playgrounds, rides, and engaging games.
Dino Park, in the centre of Kata Beach, is still fun and accessible entertainment for the family. With a pretty realistic prehistoric jungle haunted by full-size dinosaurs with an active volcano, it’s halfway between Jurassic Park and The Flintstones.
The 18-hole course is fun, not too hard nor easy, but the area is rather hot. Once you finished a game, move to the Flintstones bar for a drink and one of their Dino burgers.
At Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket, kids are offered an opportunity to interact with elephants in an enjoyable manner. Unlike the old and controversial practice of elephant trekking, no one rides the animals here.
Instead, guests can feed, play with, and bathe adult and baby elephants in a way that is unlike any other experience. Kids also have the chance to prepare food for the animals and then join them in muddy waters for playtime.
Phuket FantaSea is a show narrating the legend of Kamala, which in this story is a jungle with a mythical palace, quite different from the Kamala you know. This massive stage performance plays on the ground of a large theme park in Kamala Beach. After over 20 years in Phuket, the show is still going strong, welcoming visitors and tourists worldwide each year to enjoy this surprising performance.
Located in Cherngtalay, on the way to Bangtao Beach, Rebel Rock Climbing is an impressive 3-story, 700 sqm indoor set of walls to ascend. Everyone, from kids to adults, from beginners to very advanced, can practice their skills on top-rope walls, boulder walls, lead climb walls, boulder caves and top-out boulder walls.
It looks great for corporate events as well. Friendly staff are here to teach you and help you find the best route to the top. Safety is taken seriously, perfect for adults and kids, especially on a rainy day!
The Selfie Experience is a new photo playground in Phuket, covering 3,000 m2 indoors with more than 40 backgrounds to play with, a fun way for families, friends and selfie lovers to spend a day away from the heat or an occasional rainy day.
Ice Arena is a place to take the kids for a few hours of fun at the Boat Lagoon, not too far from Phuket Town. The price is 590 baht per hour and person, including skates. The practice ‘penguin’ comes with an additional cost of 250 baht per hour, so you better learn fast! Ice Arena is open from 9 am to 10 pm with short breaks during the day to clean the ice.
This activity is for kids older than 12 years old. Khaosok, which is outside Phuket, is a popular location for rafting. After a short briefing, everyone gears up with helmets and life jackets, and down you go. Starting gently and progressively faster with several adrenaline-pumping moments, all very safe.

Not only for the ATV ride but the mangrove and the forest you will cross to reach a mangrove beach, inaccessible by car and not very well known. A bit of practice in the mud and enter the jungle to see some unique Phuket vegetation. It is just a few kilometres from the Heroine Monument on the way to Bangrong Pier.
The Phuket Aquarium in Cape Panwa is quite modest and is not to be compared with the massive Aquaria at Central Floresta in Phuket Town, but it is more educational and also serves as a Phuket Marine Biological Center (PMBC) rather than an entertainment playground.
If you are in this area, it’s a great place to entertain you and your kids on a rainy day, and it might even be your chance to see baby turtles! It is also much more affordable than its new counterpart in Phuket town.
Which kid hasn’t dreamed of driving dad’s car? If he is 16 years old, give him this chance and let him ride a kart! If younger, take him in the back seat of double karts as long as they are at least 1,25 cm tall. It feels much faster than it is as you sit low on the road, and cars are well protected. Race with him will be a thrill; you will make his day if you are cool enough to let them win! From 650 Baht – 15 mins
Wakeboarding with a cable ski is a lot easier than you might think. There are now three wake parks in Phuket, and even the youngest kids can try it with a kneeboard, which is much more stable but still gives you a good thrill. It is safe and so exhilarating; that they will ask for more.
You can share the fun with them and talk about it for days! If you fall, you only fall in the water, and with the life jacket, it’s easy to reach the nearby edge where a bike will pick you up. 750 Baht for 1 hour, 1,000 Baht for 2 hours.
